After admiring this mans hood ornament he let me take a photo of him with his car, the ratmobile. It's made to look beat up but still has elements of elegance like a smooth matte finish in rusty-beige colors with shiny chrome accents and hand painted detailing done by a high school student above the headlights. This man has such vision!

Last weekend some friends and I went to Kansas City, Missouri on a road trip. It was my first ever road trip without my family and a bit better than some of those that I remember

This is jam I bought when we stopped at a gas station and there were Amish children selling some homemade stuff on the side of the road. It was a gift for our host, Ramzy, and I decided to draw a little on it and also on my legs.

This is Ramzy with a gift that Jenny bought him at this amazing antique store we went to.

Okay so I've been back for a little bit now. I can tell my summer is off to a good start because I was at the beach twice yesterday and I already found my new summer outfit, overall shorts. I need to do a little bit of work on my diet though, it's so much easier to eat terrible food, i mean don't get me wrong I love junk food, but sometimes you just need to feel good as well. ooh a thunder storm is starting or maybe its just rain.

Here's a photo I took from my purple room in Barcelona. I think this was right when I got to Barcelona and I was probably sick in this picture. You can tell what Barcelona tap water and humidity are doing to my hair, strange things. Now I'm spending my very last night here before going home. It was nice to see the host mom and she showed me her new Wii that her daughters boyfriend got for her. She hasn't quite got the hang of it yet but you can tell she's getting there. Then she bought me some ham today at the market to take back to my parents. Ham for all when I get home!

Anyways, I can't really feel anything right now emotionally. Maybe it's just that I don't understand how I feel. Maybe it's that I spent five hours at the beach today just laying around watching old naked spanish men.

I am starting to think about where I want to live when I come back. It will be my sixth apartment, so many apartments! I'll be returning to minneapolis on the 30th of May so I'm not sure if I'll be able to find an Apartment for June or not who knows, if you know of anyone who is looking for housing or has an open room for June or July or something.......let me know! I just need cheap rent and that's about it, maybe lots of light too I have plants okay!

Barcelona is filled with H&Ms and Zaras and Mangos and all these big chain stores, it took me a while to find some cool places but they are here. The other day i went to this store curated by this really sweet japanese duo. Maybe they are a couple I don't know, of course i couldn't really afford anything in the store, even on the ridiculous sales they had, but anyways I bought a pair of peter jensen shoes for really cheap but they are kind of crazy here is a photo. They may have been an impulse purchase or Barcelona crazy euro trash style is wearing off on me. I did need new shoes, but really how functional are these, not very. Good for summer though I'm sure.

In spain they eat hot dogs! They call them frankfurts really though and they come in a baguette. I haven't had one yet but my friend did and they look amazing. I'll have one soon. One of the best things I've had so far was a goat cheese and spicy sausage from mallorca sandwich. It was so good and so much cheese almost too much and I was a little sick but it was probably the best goat cheese experience I have ever had and I love goat cheese. A ton of stuff is fried in olive oil here and they have this place called pita inn and its like a falafel bar where you get the pita and falafel and you can add all the other stuff yourself all for 2.95 euro! which is like 4 something in dollars, but its really a value. We've already had it twice. Also last night at three in the morning we ended up buying a samosa off this guy for a euro, it wasn't hot but we were hungry and it was really good. The food is good, not all don't get me wrong they have bad food here too, and I've taken too many taxis but they are not as expensive and you don't tip! its wonderful even in restaurants no tip! I mean they don't really care about you, the waiters i mean, but still if i don't have to fork over an extra 15-20% I am so happy. I guess you could tip but I was informed a euro tip is really big.

For christmas I got a new camera! My last one passed away after I dropped it on michigan avenue, lake street and also the light rail. But life happens right? So I've been taking lots of photos and I figured out how to actually utilize my flickr account! righteous.

From the bedlams new years celebration, I was really skeptical but it was really fun. Here's one of my favorite dancers, yes with moves alone she clears the dance floor. ps- can you spot the underage drinking?

I stopped over at Loretta and Mireyahs, the caretakers, apartment on Tuesday for Mireyahs birthday. They gave me cake and I chatted with them. Last night I went on a liquor run for them and Loretta told me about how she beat up some lady at the Townhouse in 1986 and I calculated that she would have been 27 then. They're really precious and I'm going to miss them. The photo is of Lorettas birthday card to Mireyah. Above on the mantle there is a card that read to my wife, they're just so sweeet!!!!!!!

Moving, this was kind of an odd part of me moving where it appeared to be organized but don't be fooled I can't find anything I need among all the boxes I moved to my parents house

Apartment V

Following Kelly's lead I decided to photograph my apartment with Photo booth. These photos are from a long time ago but I figured since I will be moving out of it soon I should make a post about my apartment.

This is my kitchen dining space, I keep my bike next to my radiator. With my little studio apartment and communal bathroom I've had to make some interesting adjustments, like keeping my toothbrush at my kitchen sink although I didn't photograph that I don't know why. The table is a picnic table that folds up with an accompanying bench. Someone left it with me even though I tried to give it back, it has served me well though!

This is my desk which is usually covered with papers and folders even though I never ever use it. I found the chair, I call it the princess chair, on the street at my old apartment and the desk comes from my parents basement.

This is my bookshelf that I bought at savers, I removed the top row of books and things to make room for sweaters as fall was getting cold. The books and boxes were moved to the side as you can see.

Here is a wide view where you can see my large window. One of my favorite parts of my apartment was the huge window where I could watch and also hear people as they walked on 25th street. Sometimes they watched me I think.

One of the things I'll miss the most will be frequent visits with the caretakers Loretta and Mariah, My next post will be dedicated to them, complete with photos and stories. Stay Tuned!

Today I was at work eating a hot dog thinking about how i should make a post that said just: I am at work eating a hot dog right now.

So on my way home from work I decided to stop at the wedge because that hot dog from earlier wasn't holding up and I saw this amazing old lady in a long red dress looking kind of tragic and hunched over her cart trying to push it with a falling apart half eaten sandwich from the deli in one hand. Then as i'm leaving i saw her sitting in one of those little motorized carts drinking buttermilk out of a small plastic deli dish. The buttermilk carton and debris from the rest of her meal were in the tiny basket in front of her.

I got to eat a bagel, hot dog, pizza, falafel, best veggie burger, challah bread french toast. The hot dog was the worst. I saw moma, Guggenheim, Whitney and new museum. I saw some employee pull a pot leaf out of an accordion folder at strand books. I also got lost coming home on the subway for two hours and accidentally slept too late and missed my flight back oops! i saw japanther in brooklyn and it was awesome k cool thx bye! My favorite item ever in the gift shop ended up in the free box last night!
